About the Role
The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is looking for an outgoing and friendly individual for the position of Online Sales
and Marketing Associate, Commercial Gallery and OAG Shop. Reporting to the Commercial Curator, this parttime
position involves working shifts in the OAG Shop and assist with e-commerce, marketing and social media
relating to both the OAG Shop and Galerie Annexe. This position requires the candidate to work evenings and
weekends shifts.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service: working assigned shifts, in the gift shop, greeting visitors, opening and closing current
exhibitions, answering general questions and helping with wayfinding. Working with and supporting a roster of
artists.
Sales: connect visitors with products/artwork to increase sales & rentals and help achieve financial projections;
Online shop: responsible for maintaining and updating the online OAG Shop inventory, managing the weekly
packaging & shipping of sales items.
Social Media: create content and manage the social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) for the OAG Shop
and Galerie Annexe and processing sales through these platforms. Assist and develop marketing strategies for
the OAG Shop and Galerie Annexe.
Administrative support: supporting Commercial Curator and Gallery & Shop Coordinator on daily administrative
duties such as producing artist agreements, filing, database updates (FileMaker & Shopify), exhibit labels, and
helping with Annexe/Shop events.
Shipment receiving & merchandising: unpacking shop orders, entering them in Shopify, pricing them and putting
them out on the floor.
Maintain the OAG Shop and Annexe, keeping it clean, presentable and restocked;
Other related duties from time to time as required.
Qualifications:
• Must be fully bilingual in English and French (written and oral)
• Minimum 2 years experience working in a customer service position
• Completion of grade 11
• Experience working with Shopify/e-commerce platform
• Experience using social media (Instagram and Facebook)
• Flexible schedule: must be available to work evenings, weekends and late-night shifts when required
• Current certificate in Standard First-Aid, CPR and AED (asset)
