DESCRIPTION:Join us on the first Wednesday of the month in the Studio to explore creative play that engages toddlers and their caregivers during Toddler Mornings at Ottawa Art Gallery. Explore a variety of activities that foster creativity and problem-solving skills. \nOn May 3\, join us as we take a trip under the sea! In this month’s Toddler Mornings\, participants will create colourful jellyfish windcatchers and add to our collaborative ocean shapes mural! Please dress for mess! \nToddler Mornings are led by OAG Educator Wendy Moir. Wendy is passionate about art education and has taught visual literacy at galleries in Kingston\, Halifax\, and Ottawa since 2003. \n \nNO REGISTRATION REQUIRED \nSpots are available on a first come first served basis. All materials will be provided. \nThe program is free and best for children aged 0 to 4 years old. SUMMARY:Registration Opens - Creative Space Online - Sketchbook Summer
DESCRIPTION:Sketchbook Summer\nDuring our summer sessions of Creative Space\, we’ll be focused on filling up a sketchbook with observations and a variety drawing techniques. This is a great way to create a visual diary of day to day life.    \nWe are pleased to offer limited spaces to the public to participate in our Creative Space Online program. Subsidized art kits containing the required materials for the program are available in-person at the OAG shop  during regular open hours for $35 until June 14.  \nThe next session will begin on June 22 and run through to August 14.\nRegistration opens May 10 – June 14. \nSince 2015\, the OAG has partnered with the The Royal Mental Health Centre on Creative Space\, a program that encourages mental health and social inclusion through weekly drop-in art-making workshops.  \nTo register and for more information on this program\, please contact Alexis Boyle aboyle@oaggao.ca  \nSupported by TD  \n \n

SUMMARY:IN-STUDIO “MAKE UGLY ART” WITH TAYLOR WEBB
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a FREE youth art drop-in! Open to youth aged 15-25\, materials and snacks are provided during the workshop.    \nUsing speed drawing and theme breakdowns\, “Make Ugly Art” helps artists surpass the need for perfection in their work and empowers them to create from the emotional core\, detaching from the idea that every piece has to be perfect.
