DESCRIPTION:Arts Court is hosting a building-wide open house alongside Doors Open Ottawa.    \nEnjoy hands-on experiences\, exhibitions\, screenings\, performances and an arts market that the whole family can enjoy.  \nArts Court is home to a number of local arts organizations who will all be opening up their doors.  \nWhat could be a better way to welcome the summer than an art event like no other.   \nCome and join in the fun on June 1. Entry is FREE.  \n  \nOAG is joining the celebrations with a lineup of these activities:  \nSchedule of Events  \n12PM – 5PM\nArt Activity in the Studio  \nJoin us in the Studio for a fun art activity for all ages. Take inspiration from the little houses in Henri Masson’s painting\, Evening\, Bic\, Quebec\, currently on view in Visions and Views in the Firestone Gallery\, and decorate your own little house!  \nThis activity is free and registration is not required. DESCRIPTION:The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG)\, Giant Tiger and Kids Help Phone are collaborating for Pink Shirt Day 2025. Pink Shirt Day is celebrated every year on the last Wednesday of February to raise awareness about bullying. We are looking for youth ages 15-25 to produce a design for a t-shirt in a 2-part workshop series led by illustrator and comic book artist Andy Akangah. All participants will have their work exhibited at OAG in 2025 but one design will be selected for a fundraising t-shirt in support of Kids Help Phone to be sold in all Giant Tiger locations for Pink Shirt Day 2025. \nMore about the Workshop Series! \nThe 2-part workshop series on May 25th and June 15th from 10 am to 4 pm is designed to ignite your creativity and turn your ideas into professional-looking designs! \nWorkshop 1: Developing a design concept \n\nLearn how to craft designs using traditional tools like pen\, paper\, crayons\, and markers.\nIdentify your ideal customer and tailor designs to their preferences.\nLearn concepts like composition\, balance\, negative space\, and hierarchy to create visually appealing designs.\n\nWorkshop 2: Digitizing hand-drawn work for clothing \n\nTake your designs digital! DESCRIPTION:Weekly art and wellness workshops for mental health \nJoin us on Zoom for a creative workshop with Gallery Educator Haley Menard. The workshops aim to foster holistic wellness by providing multidisciplinary creative exploration in an open and supportive environment. \nZOOM Link \nThis summer session will focus on various techniques for watercolours\, inspired by paintings in the OAG’s permanent collection and the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art. \nWe are pleased to offer limited spaces to the public to participate in our Creative Space Online program. DESCRIPTION:Join the OAG Youth Council for a FREE youth art session!  \nJoin Steffi Acevedo for an acrylic landscape painting workshop\, where you’ll explore techniques and brushwork to bring natural scenes to life on canvas. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist\, Steffi’s expert guidance and personalized instruction will inspire creativity and enhance your artistic skills!   \nSteffi Acevedo is a local artist born in Colombia\, who has called Ottawa home most of her life. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University focusing on Ceramics & Art Therapy\, Steffi cultivated a vibrant ceramics business\, Steffi Acevedo Ceramics. She opened ACE Arte Studio in 2022 to share her passion for the arts with the community.   \nOpen to all youth aged 15-25.  All materials and snacks are provided during the workshop.  \nReservations are required.
