Collection de la Galerie d\u2019art d\u2019Ottawa : don de John Doyle, 2020.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>La collection permanente de la Galerie d\u2019art d\u2019Ottawa contient principalement des \u0153uvres d\u2019artistes historiques ou qui s\u2019expriment \u00e0 travers l\u2019art contemporain ayant contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la vie culturelle de la r\u00e9gion d\u2019Ottawa-Gatineau. Le collectionnement est l\u2019une des principales activit\u00e9s de la GAO. Cette s\u00e9rie d\u2019articles pour le blogue de la GAO pr\u00e9sente un bilan des r\u00e9centes acquisitions de la Galerie en les contextualisant.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La GAO a fait l\u2019acquisition en 2020 de plusieurs nouvelles pi\u00e8ces gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 de g\u00e9n\u00e9reux dons !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le don d&rsquo;une peinture \u00e0 l&rsquo;huile du XIXe si\u00e8cle, consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme la seule trace visuelle du pont en bois qui reliait autrefois l&rsquo;\u00eele Cummings de la rivi\u00e8re Rideau \u00e0 la rue Rideau, est une contribution importante \u00e0 la Galerie. Nous avons \u00e9galement acquis l\u2019\u0153uvre de grand format&nbsp;<em>Still Life with Iris&nbsp;<\/em>[Nature morte avec Iris]&nbsp;(1962), qui est un excellent exemple de Goodridge Roberts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trois \u0153uvres de l&rsquo;artiste d&rsquo;Ottawa Norman Takeuchi, de la c\u00e9ramiste Mimi Cabri et de l&rsquo;artiste de Gatineau Chantal Dahan ont \u00e9t\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement donn\u00e9es par la collectionneuse Mela Constantinidi, ajoutant ainsi \u00e0 notre fonds d&rsquo;\u0153uvres d&rsquo;artistes de la r\u00e9gion. Le don d&rsquo;une pi\u00e8ce de bronze coul\u00e9 et de techniques mixtes d\u2019Anna Williams, une relecture du mythe grec L\u00e9da et le cygne, vient enrichir notre collection en termes de sculptures.
