They Fundraiser - Main

THE OTTAWA ART GALLERY STRIVES TO INCREASE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF VISUAL ARTS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.

One of the ways we do this is by purchasing art from the artists of our region to add to the Gallery’s permanent collection.

OAG’s permanent collection helps to preserve, present and engage the widest possible range of art practices—from paintings to scultpures to digital art—and forms the bedrock of our educational tours and programing. We share all of this with you through exhibits, loans and educational initiatives.

OAG is where connection happens between Art and City: Each year—with the help of people like you, our donors, grants, artists and endowments—we add more pieces to this collection.

OTTAWA, YOUR ART IS HERE. LET’S KEEP IT HERE!

This year, and for the first time, OAG is holding a public fundraiser to raise $10,000, a portion of the funds needed to purchase they —the iconic, larger-than-life installation by artist Cara Tierney (they/them). they represents our commitment to a continued conversation and focus on an inclusive, equity-seeking and anti-racist lens. *Gender is more than just males and females and can cover all kinds of identities; they/them pronouns are gender-neutral and help trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary humans reflect the identity that feels right for them. The acquisition of this piece will empower OAG’s vision to be—and to share—the most accessible, and informed community space that is welcome to all.

MEET THE ARTIST, AND THE PIECE:

BE A PART OF SOMETHING BIG—AN ICON, A BEACON, HERE AT OAG

Help us add this epic piece—that has welcomed visitors at 10 Daly since its commission and installation in 2019—to our permanent collection: to share, enlighten and empower visitors, here and beyond, for years to come. All funds raised over the $10,000 goal will go directly to supporting OAG programming.
