Photography without a Camera!
Create photos without a camera! Discover the beauty of lumen prints, a style of analog photography that can be used to create artistic renderings of botanical specimens and other materials.
This experimental, camera-less form of photography is made by placing objects (often from nature) onto photographic paper and exposing it to sunlight. It is a contemporary form of one of the earliest photographic processes, the photogenic drawing – or photogram. All materials provided.
This workshop is led by guest artist Angelina Barrucco. Born in Canada, Angelina received her M.F.A. in Visual Arts specializing in Photography from the University of Ottawa under the tutelage of Lorraine Gilbert and Penny Levine-Cousineau. In her art practice, she draws from lived and viewed experiences to work with her subject and create a visual relationship that exceeds the usual expectations of the medium of photography. Her work has been collected by the City of Ottawa and other private collectors.
