Radical Connections

Radical Connections at OAG

Connecting the arts and health improves quality of life for residents, patients, and everyone working in and visiting healthcare settings. Creative participation is crucial for humanizing healthcare by celebrating individuals as well as the diversity of cultures, abilities, and communities. The work that was begun by Radical Connections, an organization founded by Dr. Carol Wiebe and the artist cj fleury, will continue at the Ottawa Art Gallery.

This past November 2024, the OAG and Radical Connections hosted HeARTcare: A Symposium for Bridging Healthcare and Culture, bringing together over 150 professionals from the arts and health sectors. The event focused on strengthening resources, identifying gaps, and fostering collaboration to advance arts-based health initiatives in the community.

Through a New Horizons grant with Connected Canadians, one of our first initiatives together is the facilitation of free virtual performances/connections for seniors (aged 65+) through one-on-one Zoom sessions with artists. Follow the link below to find out more about the participating artists and book a performance for yourself or a loved one.

OAG is open from 10 AM to 6 PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday | from 10 AM to 9 PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Admission is always FREE. PA Day and Summer Art Camp Registration Now Open!
