Position Overview:
OAG is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Development Officer to strengthen relationships with new and existing donors, sponsors, and partners while leveraging the Gallery’s considerable programmatic assets and successful business units. Reporting to the Director & CEO, the Development Officer will implement a donor relations and stewardship strategy that deepens engagement and maximizes long-term support. This role is integral to securing philanthropic contributions, optimizing fundraising campaigns, and identifying new opportunities to enhance OAG’s financial sustainability.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced fundraising professional looking to apply their skills in a vibrant and growing institution. While knowledge of the arts sector is an asset, candidates with development experience in healthcare, education, social services, or other non-profit sectors are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strengthen and expand relationships with new and existing donors, sponsors, and partnersto enhance engagement and long-term support.
• Develop and implement donor stewardship strategies that maximize the impact of OAG’sexhibitions, educational programs, and business initiatives.
• Lead annual giving campaigns and oversee fundraising initiatives, including Legacy Givingand sponsorships.
• Work closely with the Director & CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to align fundraisingefforts with organizational goals.
• Research and identify prospective donors, crafting compelling pitches, proposals, andfundraising materials.
• Manage donor database records, ensuring accurate tracking of contributions and engagement activities.
• Provide guidance to staff and board members on donor cultivation and fundraising strategies.
• Represent OAG at external events, networking with key stakeholders, corporate partners, and community leaders.
• Monitor and manage the development budget, ensuring revenue targets are met.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations.
• Experience in philanthropy, corporate partnerships, or major gift fundraising in any sector is welcome.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, with experience in proposal writing and public speaking.
• Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge).
