Organization Description: The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is looking to add bilingual Program Guides to its team. Join a dynamic work environment at one of the most vital visual arts institutions in Ottawa. The OAG is a cultural meeting place that encourages exploration and reflection on diversity and social change through a spectrum of visual arts practice, focused on but not exclusive to the region in a national and international context. 

Job Description: Reporting to the head of department and working in close collaboration with the Learning and Engagement team, Program Guides are responsible for facilitating hands-on family and community programs including Creative Sundays, Toddler Mornings, OAG Childcare, Art Tent, Birthday Parties, as well as offsite Ottawa Public Library workshops. Program guides will also occasionally facilitate special one-off activities during fundraising and special events. Program Guides are responsible for material preparation, activity setup, delivery, takedown, and are required to engage with the public in a professional and friendly manner to the best representation of the Ottawa Art Gallery. 

Skills & Experience: 

• Excellent command of French and English; 
• Excellent customer service skills; 
• Has experience working with children; 
• Works well independently and on a team; 
• Has experience facilitating group activities; 
• Has experience working with art materials; 
• Knowledge of art history and contemporary art an asset; 
• Ability to be courteous at all times and under all circumstances; 
• Punctuality.
