Job Description: The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is seeking to hire a bilingual Summer Studio Assistant in 2024. Working in collaboration with the Learning and Engagement department, the studio assistant will contribute to the Gallery’s key summer program: a creative summer art day camp for kids aged 6 – 12. The selected candidate will also assist with OAG’s online summer programming and communications initiatives. The ideal candidate will be energetic, outgoing, creative, and collaboratively minded. All camps will be delivered in both English and French.

Skills & Experience: 

• Fluently bilingual in English and French; 
• Motivated and energetic; 
• Works well independently and on a team; 
• Has experience working with children; 
• Has experience facilitating group activities;
• Has experience working with art materials; 
• Adaptable; 
• Facility with social media and digital technologies;  
• Experience with digital video editing an asset; 
• Experience using Microsoft Office computer software an asset.
  
  

This position is offered through the YCW program. You are eligible for this job if you: 

• are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada;  
  Note: Non-Canadian students holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible. 
• are legally entitled to work in Canada; 
• will be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment; 
• are willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment; 
• will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW; 
• have been a full-time student (as defined by your educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW job; 
• Intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW job.
