Ria Links_Artists for Systems Change is an offshoot from RIA Research in Art, a visual arts program based in the home of artists Petra Halkes and Rene Price. Set up in December 2020, it aims to connect politically informed, local artists from all disciplines, and artists’ collectives, and study-groups who face up to the urgency of systems change, and address the over-arching crisis of climate change directly in their art practice, or in other ways.
Lori Victor’s presentation on the incredible ancient palace architectural site and ruins of Toprak-Kala gives us the sobering realization of what humanity could lose due to a warming climate.
Lori Victor is a full-time visual artist in Ottawa, Canada. Her work questions and reflects on subjects such as cultural history, identity, and the environment/climate change.
Limited spaces (20) available. Register by emailing researchinart.ria@gmail.com before January 26 at 5 pm with the subject line: Lori Victor: Amazing Uzbekistan
For more information about RIA Links visit their website.
The wearing of masks during this event is not mandatory, but it is encouraged.
