The painting depicts a river surrounded by rocky and grassy shore on a windy day. The wind is suggested by the angularity and direction of the loose brushstroke. On the upper left, a tall tree stands in front of the cloudy sky. A small wooden fence is present on the right side, positioned on the land and reaching the waterfront. On the horizon, a body of land is depicted by three distinctive layers of green, beige and dark blue.
