CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
An installation consists of two interacting swinging pendulums connected at their pivots two-stories above the floor. A green laser beam tracks the swings as one pendulum is as steady as one on a Grandfather clock, and the other randomly orbits in different directions. Geuer noted on his website in relation to this work, that “[i]n science, with all its certainties, chaos is always just around the corner.” This work touches back to the theme of unpredictability espoused by the early work Rotating Frame Device (1966-85).
