Full Space explores the development of modern art in Canada through a selection of work from the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art. Including works by Jack Shadbolt, Molly Lamb Bobak, and Marian Dale Scott, among others, this catalogue accompanies the first national touring exhibition of one of the country's largest private collections of modern Canadian art, now under the care of the Ottawa Art Gallery. Two essays explore the eclecticism of painting of the 1930s - 1950s as artists turned their attention from the representation of landscape to focus on urban and social issues with a spatial and personal subjectivity.
