Published on the occasion of the second annual Festival of the Arts by the Council for the Arts in Ottawa in 1988, this exhibition catalogue accompanied a display of recent artistic production in Ottawa. Curated by Garry Mainprize, the large illustrated catalogue features an original curatorial essay that explores the central theme of the exhibition: artistic wit in local contemporary art. Featured artists include Alex Wyse, Trevor Gould, Diane Woodward, Ron Noganosh, Justin Wonnacott, Russell Yuristy, Richard Nigro, Caryn Nuttall, Jeff Stellick, Robert Fong-Jean, Jane Martin, Pat Durr, Kevin William Benson, and Pierre Arpin.
