Dear OAG Members, Supporters and Friends,

It is hard to believe that two years ago we opened the doors to the new OAG amid great celebration. The weekend of April 28th, 2018 will always hold a special place in my mind as we saw a multitude of people join us in enthusiastic support for Ottawa’s new home for the arts. The OAG Expansion was a coming of age for the arts community in Ottawa that brought into focus the incredible artistic talent that resides in our city.

With over 800,000 people through our doors, thousands more online and through our outreach programs, the Gallery’s impact over the last couple of years has been considerable and is a testament as to how cultural institutions can act as spaces for connection and social cohesion.

Despite the temporary but essential response due to COVID-19, OAG remains committed to creating a space–albeit digital–designed for art and people, rooted in our locale, connected to an ever-shifting global conversation, and a safe and inspiring space where difference and commonalities are celebrated.

Over the next few days we will share some of our fondest memories from our inaugural opening, I hope you will join us online as we celebrate and honor all of those involved!

Sincerely;

Alexandra Badzak
