On Thursday, March 11, 2021, OAG hosted a virtual event to honour Isobel Firestone and her contributions to the arts in Ottawa as a concert pianist, philanthropist, and art collector. The event featured a discussion between OAG Director & CEO Alexandra Badzak and Curator Rebecca Basciano on Isobel Firestone’s legacy and the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art (FCCA), housed at the OAG. Piano performances by University of Ottawa music students Chiao-Rou Liu and Demetry Ian Prezelj playing Chopin – Isobel’s favourite composer followed.
