For more than 20 years, the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) has welcomed attendees for the Give to Get Art Auction, an annual fundraising event in support of the art and artists of the Ottawa-Gatineau region, as well as OAG’s public exhibitions, Permanent Collection, and community programming.
This signature event will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in the ultramodern Alma Duncan Salon on the level 3 of the OAG.
The Give to Get Art Auction will inspire attendees from across the region as we celebrate the important work done at the OAG. Prepare to be immersed in an exciting art event with live music, activations, and culinary delights throughout the evening, all while bidding on art from Ottawa-Gatineau artists.
Funds raised through the Give to Get Art Auction will have a lasting impact on the OAG, where attendees will:
- Support the OAG’s sustainability, ensuring free admission and continued access to art for everyone in our community.
- Support wellness programs that offer a safe space for self-expression and personal growth.
- Empower emerging artists and arts professionals, from curators to creatives, helping them thrive in their careers.
- Enable the development of exhibitions and acquisitions that engage, inspire, and challenge us all.
- Contribute to the revitalization of downtown Ottawa, bringing vibrancy and energy through the power of the arts.

The Give to Get Art exhibition will be on view from May 24th to May 29th in the Alma Duncan Salon.

Exhibiting Artist Selection Process
The OAG carefully curates an artist invitation list for the Give to Get Art Auction, which includes artists who are currently working with the OAG (through our exhibitions, the OAG Shop/Galerie Annexe, and our public programs), as well as a variety of artists from across the region who are in varying stages of their career (emerging, mid-career and senior artists), and who represent a diverse range of mediums. The list is updated and rotated regularly for the sake of buyer interest and inclusivity, while also aiming to highlight the diversity of the region, in addition to featuring a selection of art at a wide range of price points. When reviewing the list each year, the OAG gathers input from staff, volunteers, members, and the artist representatives on our board of directors, who all work directly with the arts community.
