Saivani is a Mauritian-Canadian artist based in Ottawa who loves to explore natural and fantastical subjects through watercolour, ceramics, and jewelry. Art has been an important part of their life since they can remember, it has been an expressive and therapeutic tool in understanding herself, her identity, and methods of pedagogy. Saivani aims to one day build a local art studio and workshop to host works of local artists and work towards cultural revitalization and decolonize western gallery spaces. She is currently achieving this through local art shows and coffeehouses that they host with friends and local organizations and hopes to build a physical space in the future.
