OAG Artist Investiture
OAG Artist Investiture
Honouring Legacy and Celebrating Excellence.
The OAG Artist Investiture is an annual honour recognizing established visual artists from the Ottawa-Gatineau region whose work is part of the Gallery’s Permanent Collection.
Led by the Ottawa Art Gallery’s Board of Directors, the program pays tribute to artists who have dedicated their lives to making and advocating for art, highlighting their influence on the regional art scene, and beyond, and their lasting impact on culture and community.
Each year, a select group of artists is celebrated during a formal investiture ceremony attended by the artists themselves, community members, and cultural leaders. Their names are then permanently inscribed on the Investiture Wall in the Gallery’s Daly Lobby, marking their place in Ottawa’s cultural history.
“The OAG Artist Investiture honors remarkable visionaries who have shaped our region’s cultural landscape. Through their work, these artists inspire connection, dialogue, and a deep sense of place—enriching our communities and sparking imaginations across generations. The Board of Directors is proud to recognize these veritable pillars of creative practice.”
