A two part sketch with two landscapes: the upper sketch is a study, enclosed in a square, depicting a landscape filled with small houses (buildings), water, and cliffs in the background. There are words and letters in some places to indicate colours for the final painting. The lower sketch is a preliminary drawing for the hills/cliffs.
