A self-portrait of the artist painted in loose brushstrokes. The artist is depicted from the waist up and is wearing a brown sweater with a white collared shirt beneath (clothing). They are holding a sketch book and brush before them, at waist height. There is a grey background and a strip of brown along the right side. The artist is wearing glasses and is balding.
