CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
A conceptual installation of four coloured line graphs drawing made of signage vinyl on a white gallery wall. The four coloured lines represent the amount of chart voter turnout in Canada (grey), the United States (green), Great Britain (blue) and France (brown) since the end of World War II and throughout the Cold War. Political Landscape is a cheeky and critical comment on both political and aesthetic of “democracy’ as the graph image references the voter decline as well as the chronological rise and fall of formal abstraction. The work was created by the artist for his solo exhibition Win-Win at the Ottawa Art Gallery in 2007.
