CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION A painting depicting a rectangular black and white image with defined edges on top of a colourful fruit bowl still-life background. The black and white image seems to recall a wartime photograph of blurry soldier figures on a field. Behind, the still-life shows a blue basket containing green apples, bananas and oranges over a dark red background. The opposition of the two contrasting elements appears as a collage.
