CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
A painting on a canvas awning depicting an extravagant circus/folkloric scene. Animals and characters are portrayed in stopped action; as they are part of a story line. Center presents a man crawling, disguised in a eccentric horse costume. Two dogs surround the character. On the left, in foreground, a man, the ring-master, is looking at the viewer, presenting the "scene" with his left hand. On the left side, two musicians, one with a drum, one with a tuba, are playing while looking at the disguised horse man. The composition presents dominating tones of brown, tinting most colors and conveying an obscure aura.
