Levels 0 and 1
This is the 8th exhibition mounted at OAG with art created by Creative Space artists. Creative Space is an ongoing program and part of a well-established partnership between the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and OAG. Educators and participants engage with artmaking as a tool for wellness, expression, and connection in weekly in-person and online classes. The art is this exhibition was created in community – learning to work with the materials together and sharing successes and struggles through each stage of the process.
This year’s exhibition, Metamorphosis, explores the connections between linocut printmaking processes and natural systems of transformation. Artists have looked to nature in direct and indirect ways to inspire their work, thinking about the process of creating an artwork as parallel to the environment’s ability to adapt and change.
Explore the exhibition to learn more about linocut printmaking and the creative processes used by the artists. Metamorphosis is on display on Levels 0 and 1.
