Celebrate the Lunar New Year with the OAG. Kick off the Year of the Dragon with a sustainable craft that’s fun for the whole family!
In honour of the 2024 Year of the Dragon, drop into the OAG’s Studio between 10:00am and 2:00pm to create a craft inspired by the digital artwork of Ottawa-based artist eepmon!
In this very special edition of Creative Sundays, celebrate the Lunar New Year with the OAG by creating a dragon using collage techniques and eepmon’s original artwork. By repurposing vinyl clippings from eepmon’s two murals located in the Jackson Café, Future Garden《未來花園》(2012) and Looking Within the Shadows of the Red Sun《在紅日的陰影中尋尋覓覓》(2009), you have the chance to reduce waste, get inspired, and use eepmon’s artwork to create some of your own!
In partnership with Capital Pride, the OAG Youth Council is excited to present a free drop-in painting workshop led by Montreal-based artist Kezna Dalz! Join us in person at the OAG on April 16 between 12 and 4 p.m. to create a painted work that depicts what you would like to see in your heart.
Kezna’s work is characterized by raw features and bright colours, and within her multidisciplinary practice she addresses themes such as feminism, the fight against racism, popular culture as well as one’s relationship to sexuality. Her work can be viewed on https://teenadultt.com/

Explore the current and new exhibitions and feel inspired with an oil pastel 3D-Art workshop based on works by Jemimah Lorissaint, Peter Shmelzer and Sharon Vanstarkenburg. This activity encourages participants to create stunning and complex looking oil-pastel works of art with an optional 3D effect.
