Permanent Collection

The Permanent Collection of the Ottawa Art Gallery is a growing collection that comprises more than 1,000 works by historical and contemporary Canadian artists with strong ties to the Ottawa-Gatineau region. It represents a wide range of artistic practices, including works on paper, painting, film, sculpture, photography, and new media.

The Permanent Collection has been a community labour of love, and is indebted to the acquisition funds raised over the years by such supporters as the Stonecroft Foundation, the Elizabeth L. Gordon Art Program, and individual donors and friends such as Mark Schaan, Mary O’Neil, and Laura Brandon, and OAG’s Art Rental and Sales Service volunteers, to name a few.

The Gallery’s “Class A” designation from the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board enables it to offer tax incentives for eligible donations.
