Located on level 1 of the Ottawa Art Gallery lies our commercial gallery, Galerie Annexe. A space featuring a rotating selection of artists from early-career to mid-career and established artists. This space sets us apart, connects us to the local art’s community, and fosters budding careers.
Meet Claire Cepukas, this year’s winner of the Art in the Park OAG Galerie Annexe Best Regional Artist Award.
By using their past experience working in forestry across Canada, Claire brings a deep connection to nature into their practice.
By blending photography and digital alterations, Claire creates oil paintings that demonstrate unconventional colour palettes, using a mix of both organic and artificial elements. Through this contrast of real versus fake and natural versus manufactured, Claire encourages viewers to question their own perception of what nature is.
