We were saddened to hear of the passing of Barbara (Barb) McInnes on July 1. Barb was a force for good in our community and a great supporter of the arts. With her husband Glenn, they were an active part of the formation of the Ottawa Art Gallery, and continued their commitment through the OAG Expansion Project, and more recently through a donation of artwork to the Gallery known as the Glenn and Barbara McInnes Family Collection.

As a leader in philanthropy and community development, Barb was an inspiration to many of us as she brought energy and excitement, balanced with wisdom and intelligence to any endeavor she was a part of. Her good humour and generosity of spirit will be most profoundly missed, but the legacy that she and Glenn built together, and their deep commitment to supporting artists and fostering the arts in Ottawa lives on at the OAG and will continue to do so through many other cultural anchors in our city.
