Take a break from the summer heat (or rain!) and be immersed in bold installations and exquisite exhibitions at the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) as we celebrate exciting initiatives that not only prompt reflection on Ottawa’s past but also explore the potential of art to transform Ottawa’s downtown.
OAG’s newest exhibition, Through the Ground Glass: Reframing William James Topley explores the legacy of this important Ottawa photographer in dialogue with six contemporary artists through historical archives, stunning new works, and haunting installations. Don’t miss our live pinhole camera for a unique perspective of the surrounding cityscape.
Speaking of urban space, we recently launched Chaos Bloom – Tidal Wave, a major outdoor artwork by eepmon (aka Eric Chan) as a kickoff to the Arts Corridor, a project set to help rejuvenate downtown Ottawa through public art and cultural partnerships. Make your way to Jackson Café for nibbles and a perfect view of it.
OAG has plenty of programs and workshops on offer throughout the summer, and remember, we are always free, so please bring visiting family and friends to your home for the arts!
